What Is WIC?

WIC safeguards the health of women, infants and children up to age five by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to healthcare.

WIC Staff meet one-on-one with clients to educate them on basic nutrition and all clients receive supplemental, nutritious foods. Referrals are also made to other IHC departments and social services as necessary to benefit our clients needs. Indian Health Center's WIC program operates from two locations. The main WIC office is located at 1685 Westwood Drive, Suite 4, 1 block from our main site and the second office is located in Mountain View (327 Moffett Blvd. Suite F, Mountain View, CA 94043). What Are These Services?

Nutritional Counseling - You will meet with a WIC staff member who will provide valuable nutrional advice for your child(ren.)

Social Services - Social Services are provided to those clients who are in need. Talk with a WIC staff member today for more information.

Referrals - Referrals are sometimes made to other IHC departments if needed, whether it be for medical, dental, counseling, etc.

Supplemental Nutritious Foods - Food is provided to all clients who meet the criteria required by WIC.

Comprehensive Perinatal Services - A service which provides nutrition and health education to expectant mothers.

Medical Nutrition Therapy - Nutrition counseling to patients with chronic diseases and who are high-risk.
